Did you know that Charter Schools receive significantly less funding per pupil than other public schools? On average, Charter Schools receive $1,000-1,500 less in per student funding than traditional public schools, and far less than private tuition-based institutions in Arizona. In order to attract and retain top level educators, as well as provide our students with continued access to great educational programs and opportunities we must raise additional funds. Presidio Schools Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. Any donation or contribution made to Presidio is tax deductible. Donations are placed in a general fund to help support school programs and hire knowledgeable and effective teachers.
The State of Arizona, by statute, allows donations of up to $400 (for those married, filing jointly) and $200 (for individual filings). When your state tax credit donations are given to a public or charter school, the amount can be deducted dollar for dollar against tax due on your Arizona state tax return.
Additionally, you may be able to deduct the donation on schedule A of your federal tax return. Presidio depends on these funds to provide our students with wonderful opportunities like SeaCamp, a thriving and growing arts program, a rigorous inquiry-based science program, our growing garden and tortoise habitat, in addition to many other extracurricular programs. All donations must be received by Dec. 31 of each calendar year.
Many employers will match our charitable contributions and tax credit donations. Please check with your employer to see if they have a matching donations program
