We Believe In Family
Family is a powerful and meaningful word for most of us and we don’t take that concept lightly when we speak of the Presidio Family. Being part of the Presidio Family means that every member of our community -students, parents, teachers, and staff-is provided with support, respect, a feeling of belonging, the knowledge that we are there for one another when things are tough as well as when it is time to celebrate successes. The Presidio Family provides a setting that encourages academic and personal growth through a shared framework of values called the Six Pillars of Character- Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
Instruction is provided with hands-on, cross-curricular opportunities for exploration and discovery that build lifelong critical thinking skills and foster confident learners.
Presidio’s middle school is led by a cohesive team of qualified teachers who work together to provide high academic rigor and the social support needed to deal with challenges inherent in transitioning from elementary to middle school.
Presidio High School’s college preparatory education offers primarily Honors and Advanced Placement courses coupled with supplemental educational opportunities such as JTED and Upward Bound. Student success within this highly rigorous setting is fostered through small classes (1:18 average teacher to student ratio).
Academic excellence is achieved by ensuring challenging coursework with support from knowledgeable and caring school leaders and teachers. It begins in kindergarten, is cultivated throughout a scholar’s educational career, and results in civic minded high school graduates who are well prepared for post-secondary success.
A Renaissance Education
At Presidio School the arts (fine arts, drama, music, dance and martial arts) are an integrated part of our curriculum. It is woven into the core classroom curricula and is provided through K-8 specials and High School elective classes, where specific skills and abilities are taught.
