Principal’s Report:

• Facilities
  • The 1695 courtyard project has been completed and Presidio is working with Play It Safe to finalize the remaining grading and drainage portion of the 1695 parking lot phase.  Weems Asphalt will be on site over Spring Break to complete the 1695 parking lot project (separate from the ESSER III project) sealing and striping.
• Employee Update
  • Presidio is proud to announce that Kelsey Akers has been hired as Presidio’s new registrar.  She will begin her position in April and is excited to start the next phase of her career.  
• Open Positions
  • Currently Presidio has two confirmed open positions for SY24/25 for third grade and middle/high school social studies.  Presidio’s Principal has reached out to all employees to discuss their intent to return and Presidio’s Business Manager has discussed summer employment with all hourly employees in preparation for Summer Remediation/Credit Recovery and Enrichment.
• Continuation Forms and SY2425 Enrollment
  • Continuation forms must be completed and submitted on/before March 8, 2024.  Presidio’s front office staff are working together to make phone and email contact with anyone who has not already submitted forms and Presidio’s Student and Parent Information Manager is sending weekly email reminders to families who have yet to submit forms. 

• Summer School and Retention
  • Summer Remediation and Credit Recovery and Enrichment information has been shared with families of students who are being recommended for participation in the program.  Families must notify Presidio on/before May 3, 2024 after which Presidio will open up availability to students who have expressed interest and/or newly enrolled students.
• State-Mandated Assessment Season
  • Presidio students are ready to begin state-mandated assessments upon return from Spring Break.  The Presidio Family is getting into the action with Presidio’s high school tutor aides diligently working to pack assessment snack packs in preparation for assessment season and the 5th grade presentation of the AASA rally song at the March 1st All School Flag ceremony.
