Principal’s Report:
- Office of Civil Rights Resolution Agreement
- On December 19, 2023, Officer Langberg informed Presidio that Presidio’s revisions to the Student Handbook and Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Policies and Procedures met expectations and were to be adopted and made available to the public via Presidio’s website. Presidio’s Compliance Officer provided all Board members with a final copy of the revised ESS Policies and Procedures and asked Presidio’s Social Media Manager to post a link to the ESS Policies and Procedures on Presidio’s website.
- 1695 Courtyard
- The 1695 courtyard grading and drainage began on January 4, 2024 and is expected to be completed by Monday, January 15, 2024. The turf that everyone has been anxiously awaiting will be installed January 12-19, 2024. Students and staff alike are thrilled to have a green, puddle free courtyard to use during breaks! The final portion of the project is the 1695 parking lot, which will be resurfaced and graded to allow for better water flow to the street and Presidio’s retention basin. Unfortunately, this may require Presidio to block off portions of the parking lot during school hours, which will impact student drop off/pick up. Move information will be shared as it becomes available.
- 2024 Budget and State of the State info
- Information about the Governor’s proposed budget that will be shared publicly later this week was presented. Preliminary information indicates the budget for K-12 education will remain the same and budget cuts will most likely occur with higher education (e.g. colleges and universities). The Governor is likely to focus budgetary efforts on 21st Century workplace skills, Career, College, and Civic Readiness, and safety.
- Open Positions
- Presidio continues to post for an Exceptional Education teaching position with little success. Presidio also has an open position for a Middle School ELA teacher and monitor. Presidio’s Leadership Team is conducting interviews and hopes to hire a Middle School ELA teacher before the next Board Meeting.
