Legal Issues Update
OCR Case 08-24-1741 Resolution Agreement – Presidio has fulfilled Term I and Term II A and B of the Agreement. Presidio staff and legal counsel are meeting with the family and their legal counsel regarding the question of Presidio providing compensatory services, which will fulfill Term II C-E. Term II F and Term III require reporting and will be fulfilled after the meeting to discuss compensatory services.
State Complaint – #3524 – Presidio has fulfilled all requirements listed in the Corrective Action Plan with the exception of item 8 as Presidio has not as yet been billed for or paid for compensatory services. Presidio’s Director of Exceptional Student Services will reach out to Satori for a progress update on services and billing.
Employee Update
During quarter 3 check ins, Presidio’s Assistant Principals and Principal followed up on the active Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and wrote 1 additional CAP. Many of the staff members who are currently on CAPs are making progress, while some are maintaining. Thus far, feedback during CAP review meetings has been neutral to positive.
Presidio’s Principal has scheduled a Notice of Termination meeting for Friday, March 7, 2025 due to multiple violations of the employee’s summative evaluation criteria. Fortunately, the position has already been filled and the new employee will begin training over Spring Break.
Monitoring
The Civil Rights Data Collection report, due on March 7, 2025, was submitted on February 27, 2025 and has been accepted.
The Cycle 1 Monitoring process, due on March 1, 2025, was completed and accepted on February 24, 2025.
ADE opened up the ECAP monitoring on March 1, 2025 and notified LEAs that MyFutureAz will no longer be funded by ADE for FY26; therefore, this is the last year LEAs can use MyFutureAz for free. Presidio will submit sample ECAPs via MyFutureAz for this monitoring period and will revert to our previous process of using inhouse processes to complete ECAP samples for submission in FY26.
Field Studies and Community Partnership Items
Presidio students are scheduled to attend the following field study opportunities in the coming weeks:
The ACT 1 field study for the high school students was cancelled due to issues with the venue; however, Presidio still has a couple of ACT 1 trips still on the calendar for SY24/25.
Sea Camp is scheduled for March 17-19, 2024. Arrangements have been made and everyone is looking forward to the trip.
First grade has scheduled a field study opportunity to the Reid Park Zoo for April 2025 as it is in alignment with their curriculum and is a great opportunity for the students to see the animals in their habitats.
Seventh and eighth grade students will once again be provided with the opportunity to attend Sky School on Mt. Lemmon in May 2025. Students must be in good academic and behavioral standing to attend.
Presidio is in the process of scheduling a STEM Show and Diamondbacks field study opportunity for the sixth grade in May 2025.
Director of Finance & Human Resources Report – Prepared by: Denice Chapman , Denice Chapman
Financial Reports
Profit and Loss Previous Year Comparison – Last year at the end of February, Presidio P & L showed net income of $210,000; this year Presidio is showing a net loss of $200,000 which is due to decreased enrollment and the end of ESSER grant funding.
Facilities Update
Replacement of 3 doors – bids in and recommendations have been provided to Director, but more detail is required prior to updating the Board
Outdoor Heaters – bids to addresses 1615 electrical work associated with the heater that caught on fire have been received, but more detail is required prior to updating the Board. It is anticipated that repairs and heater replacements will be done this summer. The 1615 Cuisine Court Patio heaters & 1695 Character Mall Patio heaters are suspected to have the same issues as the 1615 Participation Patio heaters, so an electrical inspection should be done on the other heaters as well.
